1- The problems are the result of general resistance to a new culture (civilization we would say), that we must “build” to solve the serious and urgent ecological pathologies of our environment. The resistance not only raised directly from private or public economic structures, but indirectly (and also economically interested) from cultural, social, political, etc operators that fear the conditions of their positions and interests, and have a stubborn resistance of serious consequences to the moral transformation of our social and environmental surroundings.
2- Obviously, any reflection on how the urban and natural environment adapt, improves the “sustainability” index on housing and the city. However it’s about a real transformation of ethical values and of behaviors that relate to the action (whichever it is) on the environment.
We have at our disposal a technology developed or developing with which to progress in a story that recovers the local environmental balance, and above all the planetary balance in a solidarity order.
Within this, sustainability indexes of privileged societies’ housing and cities are an important but particular issue.
3- All lines and behaviors that make more sustainable cities and in harmony with nature, go through claiming ecology as a moral, an ideology which advises it all: social life, the political, the thought, culture, etc.
The action on the environment shouldn’t be considered as an undesirable opinion, but valiantly endured as part of a holistic system, where the progress of humankind (not necessarily meaning development) is the essential objective.
